Post Graduate Diploma in Guidance & Counselling
OBJECTIVES:
The course aims at providing a learning environment, which will enable students to:
- Acquire and develop a range of counselling skills applicable to work with a diverse range of clients in a variety of settings
- Build a systematic and critical understanding of the theory underpinning the application of different counselling skills
- Develop insight into the requirements and parameters of ethical and effective practice
- Experience and communicate greater self-awareness, personal growth and sensitivity to others
- Develop the skills, abilities and qualities of the reflective practitioner
ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION
To be eligible to the programme leading to the award of Post-Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Guidance and Counselling, the candidate must have passed the Bachelor's Degree Examination of this University or equivalent examination of any other recognized University, securing a minimum of 45% marks or equivalent Grade.
ADMISSION
The admission for the course will be done by a panel of 3 members appointed by the Director/Principal who will interview each of the candidates after the candidates have applied for the course.
DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME
The duration of the programme will be of ONE academic year spread over two terms.
